Each campus marks the occasion with special ANZAC assemblies, the Port Macquarie ANZAC day march and learning activities to acknowledge and understand the sacrifices made during World War I as well as those who served in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
Our students have a longstanding commitment to voluntary attendance at the Port Macquarie ANZAC march and commemorative service in remembrance of those who lost their lives in service to Australia and to acknowledge and honour Australia’s current service men and women.
Campus ANZAC services/assemblies are unique in being student designed, planned and lead.
Student Leaders work closely with the RSL in Port Macquarie to volunteer for Legacy drives. Our students regularly present speeches at numerous special commemorative services for our local RSL community including: ANZAC Day, Remembrance Day, Victory in the Pacific Day, Vietnam Veterans Day and more
Students may also opt to participate in external and College based competitions that encourage students to develop an understanding of Australia's wartime history. These may be essay or Art competitions developed by the Department of Veteran Affairs.
