Students from Year 7 Engineering have been busy scrutineering cars and racing them at high speeds. So what are C02 Cars?
CO2 dragsters are miniature racing cars that students design, build, test, modify and eventually race.
Propelled by CO2, two cars are raced at once down a track and a timer records the speed for each lane.
In this project-based STEM lesson, students learn how to design, build and race a CO2 dragster. Questions students need to solve are,
How do you design a CO2 Dragster that will be aerodynamic and do well in a CO2 race?
How can you design a CO2 Dragster that will have the least amount of drag coefficient in a wind tunnel?
