Year 12 CAPA students wowed audiences with an exhibition of their HSC final works in the lead up to their exams in September.

On display were some very high quality pieces from Industrial Technology-Timber, Visual Arts and Visual Design.

The pieces from Visual Arts make up 50% of the students overall HSC examination with the other 50% coming from their written exam. Industrial Technology marks are a combination of student’s projects and the portfolio, which accompanies their works.

Congratulations Year 12 on some exceptional pieces of work and to the exceptional teachers mentoring our students.

This year all of the HSC Music students chose Performance for their major works, which ensured plenty of entertainment for the evening including a very professional display of well known covers, some fantastic original compositions and an interlude from the Year 11 Drama class with a self devised piece, “I’m a pirate”.

Teacher, Mrs Bone commented, “I feel very fortunate to have had an amazing music class this year, and we have high hopes that their skills and dedication will be recognised on September 5th when the external NESA markers are in the school.

Thank you to everyone working behind the scenes, the parents and families and friends who continue to support the students and Hastings Secondary College, Westport Campus.”

Congratulations to each of the students who presented their work and entertained on the night. All the best for your upcoming exams.
