Last month a small but strong swim team travelled up to Coffs Harbour for the Regional Swimming Championships. The standard up there was very hot, but our students dug deep to give some fantastic personal performances
Kayle Enfield was our best performer qualifying for State in the 200m freestyle. Other strong individual performers were Jaz Harris, Jackson O’Rourke, Kingslee Marks, Oliver Dargan, Sam Reniers, Daniel Chandler, Tallis Keft, Mia Benevie and Lily Carson
It was our Relay teams however who shone the most. The boys Under 16 team with Kayle, Tallis, Jackson and Sam qualified for State after their third place result. Not to be outdone, the Open Girls team led by the evergreen Kingslee also fished third to gain State Carnival entry. Mia, Lily and Jaz swam their hearts out. Acknowledgements also to the Under 14 girls relay team of Imogen Enfield, Lily Taylor, Emia Babekuhl and Stephanie Lawrence and the Under 14 team with Ethan Burton, Fred Morris, Oliver and Daniel who also gave a great account of themselves
Unfortunately, the State Carnival has been postponed due to the Covid 19 outbreak, which was disappointing for our swimmers. Hopefully they will get an opportunity in the future.
