The end of Term 1 is quickly approaching. The Year 7 cohort has settled in to their high school routine and many of them, like the students in other years, are taking advantage of the opportunities that exist at the Westport Campus.
Year 12 have just completed their Midcourse Exams. Results of these will be reflected in their Midcourse Reports that will be available in Week 5 next term. These students have two terms remaining to put the final polish on their courses so that they can strive to get the best possible outcome in the 2019 HSC.
Our College Girls Cricket team have just competed in the NSW CHS State Finals in Bathurst this week. The team finished 2nd in the State for the Comprehensive Schools (public schools not including Sports High Schools) and 4th overall in the State – great effort!
On Friday Westport Campus had their ‘Anti-Bully’ Day. The theme was ‘Super Hero’ and student entry gold coin donation went towards supporting The Cancer Council through me competing in the Port Macquarie ‘Dancing with the Stars’ tonight. Students led this event to support the college stance on bullying being an unacceptable practice in any environment.
Our new initiative of the ‘Parent Lounge’ will kick off at the beginning of next term. Parents / carers are invited to join us for a cup of coffee and talk to us about ways that we can continually improve college / campus / family communications and relationships. This event will take place on Friday 10 May at 8.15am and an afternoon session at 5.00pm. Please drop in, there is no need to RSVP.
A number of our leadership students will be representing the college at the ANZAC Day Ceremony. I would like to encourage any students or parents to join us in the parade. We are meeting on the corner of Thai Tastic (Horton Street) at 9.15 pm on ANZAC Day.
Have a great Easter Break.
