I would like to welcome everyone back to what will be another amazing year at Westport Campus. Year 7 looked marvellous in their new uniforms, as they arrived for their first day on Wednesday. They were kept busy throughout the day, as their Year 10 Peer Support Leaders coordinated many activities to ease their transition into High School.
I would like to recognise the P&C volunteers who helped with the uniform shop throughout the holidays. They worked tirelessly, over many days assisting the students and their families updating their uniform needs. A special recognition must go to Wendy Herron. Wendy has been an active member of our P&C and has coordinated the uniform shop for many years. Wendy has been responsible for ordering stock, managing the business as well as using her unique skills when required to adjust student uniforms to meet individual needs. Wendy will be dearly missed, however we are grateful for Cheryl Clarke who has volunteered to take over Wendy’s role.
My advice to the students is to strive to make a positive start to the year and look to join one of the many extra curricular activities both our Campus and College have to offer. Groups such as the games club, robotics, sporting teams, college dance or one of our music ensembles all provide students with new opportunities to grow as well as meet new friends.
