Wednesday night saw our annual CAPA Night. What a fantastic evening! The program consisted of thirty acts (54 students). Drama, solo vocals, solo drums, duets and group performances were enjoyed by a large crowd of students and parents/carers. A massive shout out to Ms Underwood and Ms Rowsell and their team for putting together a great display of student talent.

Early next week, I will be relaying communications with parents and carers regarding our expectations for 2020. The topics will include mobile phone usage, healthy canteen options and uniform, with particular reference to appropriate shoes — all are aimed towards a continued positive, healthy and inclusive learning environment for our students.

Wednesday also saw Hastings Secondary College compete in the regional Lego League. The competition was held at the Port Macquarie Indoor Stadium. Once again our students demonstrated skills in a range of tasks which included robotics, project, core values and teamwork.

The Port Macquarie Campus won the Project Award, and the Westport Campus (The Pocket Rockets) won the overall Champion’s Award. Fantastic results!

Countdown to Christmas was celebrated on Thursday evening, and I would like to say thank you to every individual who helped in establishing our amazing Countdown to Christmas Float. What a great Parade. The Community spirit was alive and well, and the detail in some of the entries was incredible. We were proud to be crowned as the best float on the night.

Don’t forget that our annual Presentation Day is on the 13th of December 2019 at 9.30 am.

Have a great weekend.
