principal message

I received some pleasing news this week. Two of our students, Phoenix Nincsics and Adam Wall, have been selected to represent Hastings Secondary College at the NSW Public Schools State Drama Camp. This event will be held at Elanora Uniting Venues from 30 June until 4 July 2019. Congratulations to these amazing students.

I have also viewed some pictures from Lady Elliot Island this week. Our Marine Studies teachers and students are currently on the island as part of an excursion to enhance their knowledge in the area of marine biology. It's a great opportunity. Hopefully we can make it a regular event on the college calendar.

Today during one of our regular formal assemblies, Westport Campus recognised students who excelled in sport and also students who have attained Gold (60) and Platinum (100) Awards for achieving positives, as part of our campus expectation system. Super effort by these students. Well done.

Next Thursday is our annual Ironman lunch event. This is a campus based promotion to thank all of our fabulous students who volunteered at the Port Macquarie Ironman at the beginning of this term. Approximately 150 students were involved in this community event. Every year I receive affirmation from the organisers and the competitors as to the fantastic job our students and teachers contribute to the support of this event.

As I mentioned previously Academic Reports have been completed. The reports will be distributed to students in Week 10 of this term. If you would like additional copies please contact the campus.

Thank you one again for your ongoing support.
