Ian and Captains

Hi, and welcome to the Term 3, Week 10 Newsletter.

Year 11
Final course examinations for Year 11 were completed this week. These exams will give valuable feedback to students on individual course content knowledge and skills. My advice is that students use this feedback to inform them on how to improve their results as they transition to Year 12. Classroom teachers, Year Advisors or the Careers Advisor are all available for support if required.

Year 12
Year 12 had their practice graduation event on Thursday. It gave me the opportunity to have my photo taken with each student. I look forward to this event as to me, it is an indication that the work that we have done in supporting these young people over the last 13 years is coming to a close and that they, as young adults, will soon be transitioning to post school options.

Year 12 Reports will be issued on the 15th of October in an assembly that will also include the induction of the 2021 Campus Leadership Team. The Year 12 Graduation will be on the 12th of November with the Formal on the 17th of November at the Sails Resort. These dates have been selected as they align with the revision of the COVID-19 restrictions.

I would like to pass on my gratitude to the college staff and our fabulous community for the continuous support that they have given the college and the campus. Their efforts permit us to deliver quality programs that allow our students to continually grow towards their potential. I have attached a photo of Jadzea Gooch who has recently completed her first solo flight after undertaking flight training. This is an example of what students at Hastings Secondary College can achieve. Congratulations Jadzea on this achievement.

Please have a restful and relaxing break. College/Campus programs recommence on Monday 12 October 2020. I look forward to catching up then.

Jazz thumbs up
