Every day, over the past few weeks, has appeared to be like a lottery. Smoke being present, not being present and the air quality levels being at unprecedented highs. A mixture that is not supportive of consistent attendance and performance in class. Thank you to parents and carers for your support during these times and to the students who have been compliant and understanding with the decisions that have been made as to their health and wellbeing.
It has also been a big week for a number of other reasons.
Monday night saw the last P & C meeting for the year. The team has been proactive in their support of the Westport Campus and I would encourage you to join them in 2020 so that we can continue to expand on this valuable support that they give to the campus.
The Year 12 Formal took place on Tuesday night at the Panthers Club. Fantastic night! Big shout out to the Year Advisor Rebecca Roach for her superb organisation of the event. Students looked amazing and a great night was had by all.
Wednesday night was the Lions Youth of the Year Awards. We were represented by Phoenix Nincsics and Liam Halmi. Phoenix performed his speeches on Sunday, to the judging panel as he is representing the college at School Spectacular this week in Sydney. Liam was joined on Wednesday night by students from the Port Campus and Wauchope High School. All of the students presented at a very high level which is a credit to themselves, their families and their schools.
Don’t forget that our Presentation Day is on the 13th of December 2019 and the Hastings Secondary College Awards of Distinction will be on the 10th of February 2020.
