We were thrilled to host the Honourable Gladys Berejiklian, Premier of New South Wales and The Honourable member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams at our campus on Tuesday 27 October.
The announcement to invest millions of dollars will enhance the educational delivery to strengthen and streamline our transition pathways for all of our students . The announcement highlighted the first pilot PCYC partnership with the Department of Education. I am very excited about the way Hastings Secondary College is developing as a centre of educational excellence in Port Macquarie.
I look forward to sharing the plans with our community at our Parent Lounge on 5 November.
I would like to invite you to attend a Parent Lounge session on Thursday 5 November at 5.30 pm via Zoom. We will provide an update on the Hastings Secondary College Infrastructure Project and discuss the revised Hastings Secondary College Mobile Phone Policy. If you wish to attend the Parent Lounge session, please register by completing the below form.
Once you have registered, the Zoom code along with an information pack on the Hastings Secondary College Infrastructure Project and the revised Hastings Secondary College Mobile Phone Policy will be emailed to you on Tuesday 3 November.
World Teacher's Day
World Teacher's Day is being celebrated today. A huge thanks to all our incredible teachers at Hastings Secondary College who have continued their fantastic work supporting students both in the classroom and online during this challenging year. Thank you for your continued commitment to quality teaching and learning in public education.
Senior Success Program
Senior Success afternoons are an excellent opportunity to maximise your success in the HSC and/or ATAR.
The Senior Success Program is designed for all students currently in Year 11, who started the Year12/HSC course Term 4, 2020. All students are invited and strongly encouraged to attend these sessions. Sessions commence Monday 9 November 2020
We are so proud of this young leader. This week Zara Byron represented Hastings Secondary College ACYP Children’s Parliament.
ACYP inspires young people to provide that spark. They focus on healthy living, empowering young people and social impact. The Youth Parliament program nurtures young people and encourages them to lead, learn and connect to their community, and be advocates for causes that they are passionate about.
The HSC examinations have continued this week. The students that I have spoken to are pleased with how they have approached individual examinations. I continue to remind them that the HSC is a point in time, quite early in their life. How they use what they have learnt and what they have achieved will become an essential conversation as they transition to the next chapter of their lives. The final examination (Drama) is on the 11 November.
