Term 2 has been very busy with many activities happening across all areas of the school. To recap, we have had Film by the Breakwall, NAPLAN, Mid Course examinations, Athletics and Cross Country carnivals, Ted X talks, The Dance Festival, STEM activities, Nambus, Wheelchair basketball, National Sorry Day, Reconciliation Week. The list could go on. Our students were outstanding in all of these activities and they and their teachers are to be commended for the long hours spent in achieving their goals.
The Merit Assembly held last week was a highlight of the Term with a large number of students being recognised for their outstanding efforts and excellence during Term Two. It was a pleasure to see so many parents, family and friends attend the assembly to celebrate the achievements of these students, well done to all those who have been recognised for their fine efforts.
I have been thrilled to receive excellent feedback from parents about our campus and the opportunities we are able to provide for students. I attended on Monday evening, the Hastings Education Fund grant recipients at Cassegrain Winery. This fund allows for all students in the Hastings to apply for sponsorship to support their further education. We had 2 ex-students attend the event (Nicole Steer and Bailey Neal). Nicole was able tell the audience about how she was going with her University course and how the HEF grant / support has assisted her. What dynamic, wonderful young people we have!
The staff have also reported that when our students attend events at other schools and venues, the comments about their behaviour and the manner in which they conduct themselves is always very positive.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe, happy and restful holiday. School resumes for students on Tuesday 23rd July.
