The Year 12 Graduation Assembly was held on Thursday 27 September 2018 (Week 10). This event celebrated 13 years of schooling for most of the Year 12 cohort. I
The school community had a fantastic afternoon last Tuesday at the ‘Splendour out of Class’ event. It involved a silent disco, a teacher - Year 12 student dance-off and a chalk colour run. The evaluation of the event was very complementary, and organisation for a similar event in 2019 has already commenced.
Year 9 Food Technology students iced cakes as part of their assessment task this week. The designs where outstanding. Congratulations to those students involved.
Lloyd Godson, one of our science teachers, has introduced a pet therapy program into the campus. It involves his wife bringing their dog, Biscoe, into the campus and a number of year 7 students spending time in the supported learning area, where Biscoe and the students can engage.
This is a fantastic program that develops communication skills, relationship skills, and self-confidence. As a result, Lloyd has secured an opportunity for two of the students, accompanied by himself and a parent, to travel to Taiwan in November to present their program at the Be the Change International Conference. Well done to all involved.
I would like to pass on my gratitude to my staff and our fabulous community for the continuous support that they give the college and the campus. Their efforts allow us to deliver quality programs that will enable our students to grow towards their potential.
It is now just one week until the term break. I wish you and your families a safe and happy holiday.
