NAIDOC Week is a time to reflect and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of the First Nation Peoples – recognising them as the traditional custodians of the land.
We have had a wonderful week filled with education and learning and a little bit of fun along the way. The week kicked off with our Sista Connections Launch, and what a proud moment that was.
Our Clontarf and Sista Connections program has been busy developing visual footage to communicate the beginning of our educational journey with our young females and young male Aboriginal students.
Teachers across the College taught Year 7 – 12 students to engage in reconciliation, respect and recognition of the world’s oldest continuous living cultures.
And what celebration would not be complete without a cake! Our Sista Connections and Clontarf students on both campuses hosted a morning tea and served cake to their fellow students. It was a lovely morning of smiles and generosity.
The touch football teachers verse students games on both campuses was postponed due to wet weather. Next week we will provide our community with some highlights from the game. Great Week Hastings Secondary College Community!!
