Last Friday the 19th of November was National Ag Day. Students at Hastings Secondary College celebrated and took time to acknowledge the important work everyone in agriculture and primary industry does.

The College prides itself on the teaching expertise and agricultural programs offered at both Port Macquarie and Westport Campus.

As part of the agriculture curriculum, students learn about maintaining healthy living environments for farm animals and managing livestock health. Students are allocated garden beds to grow produce engaging in the full life-cycle of planting, growing and harvesting. They are shown ways to manage the farm that benefit the environment and improve biodiversity.

Our Ag farms also offer a place for our students to disconnect from their often busy schedules and reconnect with nature.

It’s always a very happy #AgVenture to our College Ag Farms!
