What is the Elsa Dixon Traineeship Program?
The Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) Elsa Dixon Aboriginal School Based Traineeship is a two-year program for year 11/12 students interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare industry.
What qualification/course can I study as part of my HSC?
➢ Certificate III Business (eg. Finance, HR, Communications, Admin)
➢ Certificate III Health Services Assistant (ie. Assistant in Nursing – AIN)
➢ Certificate III Allied Health Services (eg. Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy etc)
(Note: All qualifications will be delivered by TAFE NSW in a blended learning model)
How often will I need to attend work at the MNCLHD?
Trainees attend work one day per week (100 days over two years, can make up days in school holidays)
How do I apply for the Traineeship Program?
➢ Step 1: Contact your school careers advisor to discuss the Traineeship and get the Application Form
➢ Step 2: Fill in the 2022/2023 Elsa Dixon Traineeship Program Application Form
➢ Step 3: Your School completes their section of your Application Form and submits to the MNCLHD
➢ Step 4: Applications must be received by 5pm Monday the 25th October 2021
What documents will I need to provide (prior to or at Interview)?
➢ Up to date Immunisations INCLUDING Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccinations
➢ Identification (incl. proof of Aboriginality)
➢ Bank account in your own name
➢ Tax File Number
