Yesterday, our boys and girls U15s Basketball Teams competed in the first three rounds of the CHSSA Basketball competition. The Gala knockout day is the highlight for Basketball in the region where both made it to the finals of the day.
Both teams came out very strong in their first games, winning convincingly.
- Boys – Port Macquarie Campus 48 vs 15 Macksville High
- Girls – Port Macquarie Campus 40 vs 24 Kempsey High
The next round again saw both teams win comfortably due to the extensive use of team plays and ball movement.
- Boys – Port Macquarie Campus 35 vs 23 Melville High
- Girls – Port Macquarie Campus 40 vs 26 Melville High
The final is where it all counts in moving onto the regional stages of the competition.
Straight after their 2nd round win, the boy’s team moved courts to play in the finals. All members dug deep to put good numbers on the board against Nambucca High, but it was too much in the end against a stacked side.
The boys went down: Port Macquarie Campus 38 vs 46 Nambucca High
The girls also faced a well trained team in the finals. The ball movement between our players, lead by Lily Maqueda, saw Port Macquarie Campus victorious over Wauchope High:
Port Macquarie Campus 31 vs 23 Wauchope High.
The girls will now go through to the next round where they face a tough Coffs Harbour side.
Well done to all the players and coaches.
