Orientation Day Tuesday 23rd November
The transition to high school can be disorienting. Students move from the familiar routine of primary school into a new and unfamiliar world. It’s a big change for families too.
Orientation is a chance for students to learn how things work at their new campus and meet other students as well as staff members. Orientation is also a chance for the College to start getting to know your child.
Most importantly, your child will meet other students. They can hear about life at the college from those who’ve been there, and begin making the new friends who will share their journey.
A lot of getting-to-know-you happens in a short time.
Orientation is for parents and carers too. For this reason, we are holding a Parent Lounge session on Thursday 25th November starting at 5:30pm - 6:30pm.
We hope you will become comfortable with the College, learn about our policies and expectations, and start connecting with key people. It's a valuable experience. We will be discussing;
- Policies, standards and behavioral expectations for students.
- How the college will communicate with parents and families.
- Who to contact if you have concerns.
- How parents can stay appropriately involved on the college level — perhaps through the campus P&C
We have been advised that NSW Health will be on-site at each campus on Thursday 25th November to offer the first of two doses of COVID 19 Pfizer vaccine in a school vaccination program at least 21 days apart. The second dose will be administered on 15th December
This is a VOLUNTARY opportunity. Signed parental / guardian consent MUST be provided.
Please note that the College does not hold a view on COVID 19 vaccinations for our students. Parents and carers make that decision and we are supportive of all parents in their decisions on this issue.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please click on the link provided. It will provide you with vaccine advice and a consent form. Consent forms will also be available from each campus' administration office. Students will need to collect these as we will not be distributing the consent forms to all students.
Port Macquarie Campus P&C meeting was postponed recently, however please try and make it for their next meeting - Tuesday 23rd November. It starts at 6:30pm for a 6:45pm start.
It's going to be a fantastic week!
