This week was a success for our Open Boys’ Basketball team, narrowly winning their Round 5 match against a strong Orara High, on our-home court.

The intense and high-paced game drew a crowd of spectators from the stadium as Orara fought back from a 10-point deficit in the first quarter. The lead changed many times as both teams found the right plays for baskets. It was in the final quarter Port Campus’ Tim Douglas made an aggressive drive to take the lead. The team then played strategy, holding the ball and running the clock down.

Special mention to Sebastian Heuer (Captain) 17 points, Tim Douglas 11 points, Tyson Watt 11 points & Brent Nixon for consistent defensive pressure.

The Boys Team is now off to Round 6 playing a Far North Coast side before setting their sites on playing in the State Finals next Term.

Next week, it will be our Open Girls Basketball teams’ turn to face Coffs Jetty High on their home-court in Round 5 of the CHS competition.

We wish both teams all the best for their games!
